He subsequently moved to New York where he was faced with a most fascinating contemporary reality. The artist defines his art as "synthetic life".

Vito Bongiorno was labelled by Costanzo Costantini as the Italian Yves Klein. This definition is a testimony to his work on the female body, started in the year 2000. The artist’s style is clearly evoked by his anthropometric work, which he created in Tarquinia in 2002 and in Fregene in 2008. He currently lives and works in Rome and is considered to be one of the rising contemporary Italian artists both locally and internationally.
